Originally built in 1868 for the Reverend Thomas Ellwood, The Old Rectory is a relaxing and comfortable base from which to explore the whole of our beautiful Lake District. Sink into one of the comfortable sofas in our lounge. We have lots of books and guides for you to read and a good selection of games to while away the evening. If it's fine you can relax and chat on the garden terrace with your aperitif. For those of you who enjoy fell walking there are several dozen recognised walks within as many miles. What more could you ask for.
Locally sourced Cumbrian fayre
In our conservatory dining room you can enjoy a traditional Cumbrian breakfast. Choose from our extensive buffet plus a full range of options from our cook-to-order menu. After a day spent exploring, sit down to an elegant four-course meal prepared each day from fresh local ingredients.
